Saxib, the situations are not compressible, the Derg was reviled universally, whereas public sentiment towards Barre was generally hit or miss. Considering Derg disenfranchised everybody while Barre played favorites, it's no surprise the factions which overthrew him turned on each other. Chaos is bound to pan out in an organized manner if you have one united goal, not so much when everybody is in it for themselves.

Neither left the country in a state comparable to MOD who even pre-war were on the brink of bankruptcy. Not to mention even in a state of anarchy the human development index is superior to what it was under government, and there's no doubt the average Somali not directly in a combat zone lives more comfortably than their Ethiopian counterparts.

Ethiopia under a government is inferior to Somalia after decades of war. Who should be embarrassed?
