Trophy-Wifey, bal soo gal halkan

Postby Highland » Wed Nov 04, 2009 3:03 am

This song (lyrics below) descends upon me an air of nostalgia and waayo waayo. Here is a Luul Jeylani along with Omar Dhule singing together at Iftin Bar in 1990. In this classic album, IFTIN BAND plays the latest and best mosaic of musical instruments like electronic guitar, organ, saxiphone etc all synchronized with the speed and synergy of a world-class band.
If you listen to this album, you will just remember the best times Somalia had. Their sweet voices are perfectly adjusted to the sound of the beat as they entertain high level officials, dignataries from visiting countries and the acolytes of wealthy families. Songs like miyir malihiye, maadadaada ku mirqaamey markaan ku arkee, murug I deysee maanta aan maqsuud noqdayee, and indhaheyga ooyayoo by Omar Dhuule.

Midkii ii maciini jiree
Midigtey ka muuqahaay
Maka maarmi karee magaciis
Maka maarmi karee malabkiis
Maxaa ku miirsan karaaye
Midkii I maagey Malaaq waaye
Yaa ii maslaxeehaaye
Yaa Muslimoow midigtey
Yaa murugtaan iga mooti karaaye
