Secondly a person's shortfalls do not remove him from the fold of islam as long as he or she views those actions as being forbidden.

You on the other hand work in a bank knowing it's forbidden. My advice to you would be to find another job.

General duke--i dont mind looking like a Muslim. I am proud of it. I will not hide my muslimness.... ..... However, i do agree i am also an american. A proud muslim american who condemns these heinous, stupid, selfish acts. Murder is Murder whether you say Allaahu akbaar or not. Period.Nadal missed the point of diinta islaanka. He was welcomed in the country by non muslims, his families given a safe haven. He was given free education and now that he was sent to iraq he desides to SNAP???? I dont think so. Thats selfish. IF he disagreed with the institution of the army so much--why did he join them? Why couldnt he be like MANY muslims who practive the real islam-- by not associating with jobs that are haraam.(for instance, liquor, polk, reba selling businesses) Those muslims are brave in my eyes. I work in a financial insititution, the reba/profits and all that makes me guilty of it. But i cant help it, i have to earn a living. And i am sure Nadal had to earn a living too, but u should face the consequences of your choices.

Nadal joined the army, because like most who enlist, was poor. Sure, the army paid for his education, but that comes with a hefty price. See, if you join the army, you become its property. You sign a binding contract when you join it. You simply cannot quit it, that's why you hear about those who flee to Canada or Europe and seek asylum. His conscience didn't allow him to go to an occupied Muslim country and kill fellow Muslims. He tried to avoid deployment, to no avail. Quitting the army or avoiding deployment isn't possible. I hope this should serve a lesson for Somalis considering to join the army.
