I think you didnt getr what I meant. Now I think the people that his army was composed of were mainly Somali tribes. Wouldn't you think they would know who he was, I ahve also stated above that he clearly had the greatest social lihnks with them. The next thing I pointed out to you was that it is rather biased to ask to wolf about the history of the sheep.
This man fought Ethiopa and the fanmous story is still known up unitll today. The story that they werte fought so fiercly by Ahmed GUrey that the Ethiopeans didn't have time to cook thei meat and so ate it RAW. And this little cuisine habit is still alive in Ethiopia( COrrect me if I am wrong).
I didn't say anything about a English-man not being able to be a muslim or ISlam not reaching him. For example would you rather hear the historu of Mahmed from and English-man or from an Arab Scholars from the 3rd century??
Talxenugus,
I am not claiming the Imam, for me it doesnt matter wheather he was Somali, Afar or Arab.....
I just wanted to point out wat the abyssinans thought of his lineage!
But I am unconfortable with you discarding this source as biased right from the beginning!
We all know the ethnic composition of the 16TH century is different from todays.....
Wat did the Abyssinians gain by saying he is not Somali? i stated that the book was written before the present Ethio/Somali rivalry
