US actress Brittany Murphy died today from a reported heart attack at the age of 32.
Multiple sources told celebrity news website TMZ.com that she went into full cardiac arrest and despite multiple attempts, could not be revived.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Devon Gale said emergency services were called to the house she shares with her screenwriter husband Simon Monjack in Los Angeles at 8am local time.
According to reports, her mother Sharon Murphy discovered her daughter unconscious in the shower.
Paramedics determined that Brittany was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR.
They continued mouth-to-mouth as they sped to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, several miles away from her home, but Brittany was pronounced dead on arrival at 10.04am.
Monjack was not thought to have been at home at the time.
Her rep, Nicole Perna, said in a statement today: 'In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy.'

Miskeen, I cant believe she's dead. I didnt know much about her and her films were mostly shite but it's still shocking and sad

I just saw it on CNN! GASP!

I hate CNN ! They made a sudden announcement -- CLUELESS actresses dies and then boom they go to commercials! I quickly ran to google to read before the commercial is even over. Turns out it is not my Alicia sylverston, who was the leading actress in clueless. Murphy was just a co star, who cares. Thank god it is not Alicia. I was already jumping to conclusion that all her vertable only dieting killed her.

Gee what a relief.
