exactly...this has nothing to do with islam, but natural resources (mainly oil)...muslims just happen to have the largest deposits of oil---this is why some countries like saudi/the gulf in general are left alone, but others like iraq/iran are crucified because they refuse to allow america/western countries to control their oil supply...combating extremism is just an excuse...these misguided muslims are just falling into their trap and justifying this so called war on terror
