Kenya trying to steal the economic future of Somalia.

AbdiWahab, my concern is not about where the Kenyans build their port but about Somalis being one of the main economic engines of Kenya. Somalis saved Kenya economically. Almost everyone I know is building a home in Nairobi on top of somali business giving Kenya the foreign currecny they need. Why not Garissa? Why not build Wajeer? At least Somali inhabited areas will develop and remain in Somali hands guaranteed if Kenya explodes into ethnic violence.

My Rer Abti are from NFD, Wajiir. There is nothing major happening their economically. The reality is that you will build property or live where you feel most comfortable. NFD is not a desirable place and is a backwater that dips into anarchy often.

Personally, if I was building property in East Africa, I would build in Arusha, Moshi, Kigali or Bujumbura before Nairobi.

One must always follow their own self interest. If my safety or comfort can not be guaranteed in Somalia, I will seek it elsewhere.

In order for Somalis to relocate and develop their country, they need security. Look at Somaliland, Hargeisa is prospering not because of its vital location or economic prowess but because it is safe. Even a small town like Borama which has nothing going for it is doing well because it is stable and peaceful and this attracts people to settle there and invest.

True, I couldnt have said it better myself. Somalis lack forsight, They are involved in petty squabbles. They lack the maskax required to think ahead and work hard for the future of their children. Walaahi it is very said. Right now our only hope is a dictator or something who can give them a wake-up call and force them to work.

What are you expecting when a country's educated men have the mentality of some folks in this joint? You don't need to look else where just look at Somalinet. When they are busy on each other...When all their effort and mind is how to destroy reer hebel...
How can they compete with neighbors?

Every country will take advantage of Somali's misery..Big or small...

1. They will dump their toxic waste into this no man's land.
2. They will import from Somalia organ transplant..infact we are now the biggest market for that, kids are stolen left and right for that matter.
3. They steal all Somali's resources specially the Ocean stuff.
4. Human trafficking specially girls for sex-slavery.

I been saying that as well for a while. The older generation had no foresight for this generation and now it is lost and breeding Another generation now that has no clue on structure, period.

And the people on this forum serve as a microsm of the older generation and how they still cling onto the bitter past and don't really care about the lost future that was destroyed in the process.

Oh well, I guess that's just part of being a Somali
