Im Re-thinking My Support For The Darawiish Movement.

Apparently I was told today they stabbed my great grandmother but she survived after a dispute, She was a married women so I doubt it was sexual related, maybe they wanted to collect tax from her but she ended up putting up a fight and getting stabbed in the process. What a gangsta lady she was

They will be condemned by history. This I have no doubt and will occupy the very bottom of history's dust-pins. Them and the other evils that have afflicted our nation.

As critical as I am of the Darwish tactics, I think it is an insult to compare them to Al Shabab.

I strongly agree it's shame to comapre the Dervish resistance movement to the barbaric and brutal nature of the Al Shabab criminals who time after time showed callous disregard for human life.

sayid muhamad and the dervishes showed severe disregard for innocent life, perhaps even moreso than alshabab. i believe most somalis would have hated them( mainly due to clan grievances- especially some northern somalis), if it wasn't for the somali nationalist governments. in the end,history depends on who writes it and for what purpose.

Darwiish was considered an anti-colonial Somali movement, but the Dhulbahante turned it into a tribe think, calling Darwiish after their militia or organizations.

Darawiish, killed my great grandfather's brothers because they did not join the movement as they were buzy managing a high figure livstock, they killed them and took the camels leaving the goats and sheeps for my grandmother(great grandfather was not there). still it was tribally related as there were different tribes involved who only dared to do this with the Darawiish banner.

my great grandmother from the other side of the family, supported them with a lot of livstock, and they managed to get the Sayiid show gratitude for the contribution.

my grandfather and his older brothers were raised by Darawiish, and my great grandfather actually trained Darawiish, he was a known Amaan Dhuul amongst the Darood.

in my family we had dozens hourses and the Darawiish were given them when they raised armies in the region.
