Does every Somali have to freaking listen to Rap, Hip Hop and RnB? Why cant i Like rock music and bands such as the the Killer's, Cold Play, White Stripes and Linkin Park and my Favourite Gun's and Rose's.

not every somali listens to rap, hip hop, etc. genre..well i'll speak for myself i like every time of music, somali ppl that stick only to rap are close minded & don't know good music .....

It is a defense mechanism. Most Somalis, being first generation new immigrants, can't fit in with what is considered white mainstream culture so they resort to those closest to them with which they can identify.
