The Aksumites, indeed, went one better and were on the verge of taking Mecca itself when, regrettably, a smallpox epidemic broke out among their ranks and decimated the hordes of Aksumites encamping on the outskirts of the Arabian capital

He is sad that Abraha didn't the Ka'abah?? And who the fk knew smallpox back then anyways??
It was "Tayran Abaabiil tarmiihim bi7ijaaratin min sijiin" that took care of them bastards..smallpox kulahaa .

professor samatar is writting about documented history not on islamic theology. the two things are different one is based on history and rational thinking the other is based on personal belief and blind faith. so there is really no reason why you people should condemn professor samatar's scholarly work just because contradicts your beielf!

There is nothing rational about what he wrote in the part I quoted..because even if you try to disregards the diin(which lit. makes you a kaafir)..
you cant invent and say such and such disease afflicted that army..when historical facts are different.
And what makes you think that arabs of that era and muslims afterwards did not documet history?? mise you only believe in Cadaan's his-story?

which sounds more plausible smallpox or army of birds. im sorry mate you can belief what want but you can present your belief as an infallible truth.

Why are the most famous somalis, the ones that disgrace Islam? May Allah disgrace them. It is disgusting if those words quoted are said by him.

I knew in adigaba lagugu jiro..you should have been clear from the beginning , instead beating around the bush and defending the guy indirectly.
One fact remians, there was no such thing as smallpox 1400 yrs ago, and if it was..no body knew it.
Another unrefutable and more imp. fact: Yes an army of birds is more plausible to me and to a billion and half muslims in this world..

He sounds like an afrocentrist loser. Just look at the remark he made about Ethiopian history predating the history of even ancient rome.

SomaliStar,
Akhii, why are Jabertis in the Diaspora bash the religion and our culture to try to become famous ?
This Jaberti is a scumbag. I disliked the man since 1992 for his actions to provoke conflict between Hawiye & UN/USA

AW, how come you only hate and love for your tolka's sake? you hate this kaffir because of clan reasons, just like that other djibouti kaffir. what happened to hating and loving for allah's sake only? aren't you muslim?
and you cry when someone identifies you as a non-muslim...

Not only is your understanding of "Islamic theology" poor but your understanding of history begs a lot to be desired. Touch up on both and understand for yourself why that criticism is applicable to Christianity not a Faith that is congruent with history as Islam is.

The professor is Layl Kase but does not represent Layl Kase or any clan. I watched that CNN interview of his pictured there and I wrote this about it before:
My believe is the man is senile. Look at the Al Qaeda issue. He said there is definitely Al Qaeda involved and then the next time it was his turn he said "Americans are obsessed with Al Qaeda and see it everywhere even Somali fishermen turned pirates".
Kol horaa maskaxdu ka tagtay. He even argued for collective punishment against all of Majeerteens and capturing and imprisoning all their elders to put pressure on the pirates. Don Lemon and all the other contributors were shocked and blinked 80X per minute throughout the whole time he talked.
