French ban on veils considered

A parliamentary panel is due to report on Tuesday after a six-month inquiry that began after President Nicolas Sarkozy said veils were "not welcome".

Its head Communist MP Andre Gerin said today the report has a "multitude of proposals" to ban the veil in places like schools, hospitals and other public buildings, but not private buildings or on the street.

He stressed the need to move "progressively" towards a total ban and to work "hand in hand" with Muslim leaders and associations.

but the moderate so-called "muslims" consider the mushrikeen to be their brothers in humanity. they would much rather work toward achieving some sort of egalitarian status with them rather than allah's deen dominating over them and their way of life. its not part of their belief-system for islam to dominate other religions. its in their belief that islam should only be striving towards achieving equality with other man-made shirki religions and ideologies.
