That is the AMERICAN way of life mate. In many cases, the 4 week vacation is hard to come by and the company would force you to keep working. Happened to me often. Government(state and fed) jobs I hear are a lot more relaxed, holidays are observed and getting vacation time is just a breeze.

Four weeks of pay vacation sounds very unusual for any profession in America unless you maintain the same job for 5 yrs plus.

BTW, There is nothing wrong in working at the walmart provided the low skills you possess.
