Technical problems: Help me please.

Postby Siciid85 » Fri Feb 12, 2010 9:39 pm

Okay I have a kodak EasyShare CD82 pix camera. I have recently taken alot of pics and I want to transfer those pics from my Camera and upload them into my PC at home. I have the USB cord, but it doesn't work when I plug into my camera and into the PC. So, I purchased a card reader (32 in 1). My memory card is Kodar SD 2GB. But still my PC doesn't recognized it.

So why the hell won't it work? It works fine with my laptop and work computer, but why won't it work with my house PC. It won't give me any pop up message in 'MY computer" or anywhere else. I'm wondering if my PC is missing some software that enables card reader to work.

Please help me quick I need this.

thanks. 8-)

Are you sure if your usb port are working at all?
if so then use your laptop to transfer the pictures to a usb stick and then plug that stick into your desktop.

I have no idea, never uploaded anything into this computer. How can I find out that they work?

My USB sticks work fine, I dont know about the USB port though.

If when your plug your USB tick unto your desktop (computer) if make a pop noise and then you have an extra drive in my computer icon.
(basically you can access the content of your USB stick on your comptuer) then you USB port is fine.

But the best thing is try as i told you.

Just transfer your pictures to your laptop and
then from transfer from the laptop to your usb stick
then take that stick with your pictures to your desktop (computer)

if your memory stick is not recognised by your desktop (pc)
then there is nothing wrong with your camera or SD card

but your computer USB ports is broken or not attached (configured) properly to the motherboard.
you need to open the case and check if the wires from the usb ports are connected to the motherboard
someone who knows what they doing will be able to help.

and this is the end to your query.

Siciid,

A pretty common problem, actually. Ur computer doesnt recognize the USB because u dont have the drivers that match the brand of Camera uve got, installed. If there's a Cd that came with the Cam, now would be a good time to install it. If not, google for it and download it. Just make sure ur downloading from legit sites like kodak.com or something. Good luck.

Pro-Tip: Find the SD socket on the left side. Take out the chip. Plug in your USB cord to your camera. Then proceed to stick the other end of the USB up your ass..
