Somalis jump on the bandwagon walaal. Waxkasto ilbaxnimo bee moodaan.Only hear this day from Somalis. Why is that?

It was celebrated all over the world yesterday! It was on every news channel. That Somali channel Universal TV dedicated a whole hour to it. Flicked the channel it was all over BBC news, and Italian news! So I don't think it's just Somalis who celebrate it. Erm, I think it was even celebrated in Somalia back in the days, and it's quite popular. I have nothing against womens achievements being celebrated, but why just dedicate one day to it? I don't know when Somalis adopted this, but it's not somethin' new to them. The older generation used to celebrate it back home too apparently.Firefly,
How come the rest of the world doesn’t give a shit about this day? How did the Somalis adopted such date?
Oh those postersThe Advocator (clearly not for women's rights)

Salahhudiin: Every day IS Women's day (), just highlighting this one as another mile stone reached for their 365 days of hard work, as well as the issues that concern them the most! Whats so offensive about that? It's not like you've taken the initiative to bring any of those hadiith's or ayaats forth to our benefits, now either have you? By all means tho, do enlighten us.

Sadeboi, bought it last year sometime. Its a such great read! Amazing how far a little bit money can take one. Microsavings and microlending programs are the best way of building up any developing economy. And what better way than to use the Bangladeshi banker, economist, and Nobel Peace prize winner Mohammed Yunus's example of starting with the women first!

There are many programs out there that are interest free. Ones that lend $30, and expect only that in return over a much longer period of time. The idea being that those with zero access to capital could get started, make something out of their lives, and hopefully bringing themselves out of poverty. Of course the word "Bank" mentioned in anything to do with developments, and poor people, is often a recipe for trouble. Still like most "aid" related cases, it works for some, and not so much for others.
Honestly, I did not this was the best method, one waa xaaran, and their is a profit off of the poor people.
But I did love all the people who on their own accord went to remote places to help build clinics, safe prostitutes, safe mothers and kids, and educate women. Amazing, especially the ones from a western background. P.s The catholic church does more for aid around the world, and runs majority of small clinics, then any other entity. What is happening to the Muslim world? They hurt their women the most.
