Dad: Got kicked out of Somalia, lived in the UAE a long time before the fall of the Somali gov
Mum: Italian language teacher at Lafoole University
Are u sure it was Lafoole University? Cause my dad was a teacher there and I am sure he didn't speak Italian.

Heavily criticize Barre’s regime through foreign media (he did it abroad). Afterwards they invited him over for talks, but it was a set up, they put him Kismaayo prison for a few days/weeks and then kicked him out with a one way ticket to the UAE without a valid passport. He remained stateless for a few years but the UAE granted him citizenship in the late 70s. So eventually he got a much better citizenship & country in return. 8-)
