Yh, illegals have a phobia about any legal documents and their figures are never really accurate, experts estimate for every Hispanic/Latino that is accounted for, there are atleast 2-3 that go unaccounted, which means they are the largest non-white group in the U.S., even out-numbering whites in some states like California.
Why doesn't the US government just make it mandatory for local municipalities to keep track of such information, why on such a massive scale and only once in a decade?
The Census is every 10 years and it will be a logistical nightmare to do it the way you suggest, not to mention a budgetary pain. These days they send people the forms and attach an already stamped envelope for a quick return. They hire thousands of seasonal employees that then do the actual counting and stuff.
