dude i can say Somalis are blessed with poetry but its great to have it in english now too, keep them coming, cant wait to read the next one inshallah.

I climb the Kilimanjaro to see planes upon which harshness was built.
The banana trees seem to greet me in delight.
Moving nomadic folk and I stare at one another.
Their camels in pace with what they are burdened.
Their long necks and its elegance;
I gaze into the land of Fragrance

Green fields around the Shabeelle tell me tales.
Signs of relations between desert sand and Indian corals.
Singing birds in my ears as I stare into fires lit to meet the coming night.
The night finally greets me as I roam villages to explore.
She and I are equally interested in the tales told by the elderly.
The moon and the stars somehow share our silence.
We all hang on the lips that have drawn more then one account.
Long noses and reddish skin revealed by camp-fire.
Simple houses overflowing with rich Somali;
We listen the night to sleep, memorize every word uttered.
Butterflies give out their colors as a morning welcome.
Butterflies in my stomach as I fall a land I never saw.
I feel less poor when surrounded by fragrance.
The land of fragrance!

Talxe that is tight..i don't know who the "she " in the poem..but i assume a lover...and its tight how it is a bond but also exploration of land and explanation of culture..

When I go in sun, I black
When I cold, I black

And when I die, I still black.

You white fella,
