Oraahada "naag" waa la bah-dilay. Many negative words are associated with being female, the archives of this forum is full of males tyring to put each other down by accusing the other of being a naag. The term naag is no longer neutral or an objective term. Xaas is a better connatation. The only worse term than naag is "haween ta ii ama uu dhaxada" talk about TMI!!!
loool

I always found that abit odd, specially since that term is used in the most formal of settings i.e. when referring to the wives of esteemed individuals like presidents etc.

yes, I would be offended.

it's taboo in my household to call you wife "nagteyda". Naagteyda is disrespectful word. sounds like he owns you or something. I prefer gabadha aan qaabo, Xaskeyga or oridayda.

Not lahaansho, but a kalmaad implying "gooni-ahaan" adiga keligaa ineey kula "joogtoo".

Ps: Ilaah baa kuligeen oo dhan ina leh, by the end of the day...so no need to get caught up in the battle of the sexes. :P

Naag is a derogatory term and one should not use it to refer to his wife. That is at least in my view and how I am raised. One should refer to his wife as "Xaaska" or "Xaaskayga".

lol...In the context of Ownership? :? "Everything belongs to Ilaah", and nothing to people. Even Your parents are Walid -" protectors" of the naf that was granted to them. Not the "owners" of it. Anyway, my guess would be that the "leehaansho" ur talking about = "Belonging". As in Kabtaan, kabtaas beey "leehday". Ninkaas iyo naagtaas baa is "leh" lol. Not he owns her, or she owns him.
