Somalis have been doing that for the last 20 years! They already are at the local levels, just look at Somaliland and Puntland!

But that doesn't breed anything on a national scale for the entire whole.

And yeah I was born in.. Holy Cross Hospital... Silver Spring, Maryland... My family is from Hiiraan.

Maasha allaah. Allaah said In the Qur'aan, " Allaah has never made the same those who knows and those who do not know"

Two of them are Illitrates who are very shallow minded.

That is why I believe the solution for somalia lies in the hands of The Western educated Somalia.

I think the problem is that it is not in their hands. If it were in their hands we wouldn't be having the mess we have now. I was listening to HornAfrik when the ban on music was introduced and I was surprised by the number of callers who agreed with it...never mind the people who introduced the ban being terrorists who were not elected and should not even have a say on what is played on privately owned media let alone banning things. But the fact that people were agreeing with it shows that Somalia is not ready for modernity. I certainly don't plan on living with people who think such behaviour is acceptable. I don't think you can have peace by changing the leaders you need to change the attitudes of the general public and then you'll have lasting peace.

Eyes-Only,

Dumaashi, where have you been hiding ?

Damn you and your dumaashi dumaashi crap...now I've ended up with another sacad brother in law. I think you jinxed me... :x

I've been taking a break from the jungle...I was starting to get an allergy rash. :D

FAH1223, it's the principle. If people can't appreciate the rights of others and can accept hooliganism and thuggery...they're not ready for a civilised system...music may not be important to you but accepting a ban on that is accepting what they did was right and it wasn't. Who are they to tell privately owned stations what they can or can't play?
