I wonder what caused the sudden change in fashion after 1990. Did the war cause the trend in fashion to shift? Or was there an quick surge of Islamic principle? If so, why post 1990 and not earlier… hmmmm interesting.

Thats why somalia had a civil war ma ha? People were dressed like that and somalis were generally becoming 'unislamic', like u Oxy,..... .....i think the the new acquanic look is best for somalis. Who you are, starts with what you are wearing.

It started in 92 in the refugee camps. Before the war, the dugsis were run locally and everything had government regulation according to Somali traditions and socialism, but afterward there was no system to keep the cultural quota so the Saudis flooded the country and refugee camps with literature and teachers who taught in their style.

Even worse are those who make it even uglier as if they weren't doing such a good job of it already by wearing two colours that clash and not in a good way.
