Those not cut out for a life in the rat race must safe themselves by any means.

 Weldone to anyone that has the means and connections to relocate.

Abdi 30k? just to spend it all in 2 years doesn't sound like a secure invesment to me.

Better example:

Buy a 5Bed house, depending on age of the house cost between 20k-25k and yields a net income in rent of 100-150dollars a month. You still have a buffer pot of 10k. 100dollars a month is more then sufficient for a farax per month. If things get uncomfortable you can still recover the majority of the money that went into the property at purchase. over the course of a year your money has worked for you and earned you at least 1200 Dollars. I know of no bank account that can yield 100dollars a month for an investment of 20-25k. That is if you are comfortable with Riba. This is a rough example based on peacefull parts of somalia.

Grandpapa,

I recommend you sever all ties that may keep you out there: loans (mortgages, student etc), save up a nice nest egg (2 years living expenses) and DON"T GET MARRIED there.

Trust me, you won't regret it.
AW,

You got a point here.

A professional Farah WORKING in the UK/the west, Can save between $300-500000 in 10 years - Depending on his salary and Bonuses.

So, if he decides to wed Halimo in Africa and keep her & the babies in Africa for 10 years. Man, He can save a lot of Money and maybe purchase house in the west free of Mortgage! Or Maybe purchase that factory - he dreams about it and set himself up as Somalia's first industrial Tycoon!

Man, this is a brilliant idea!

Cirwaaq,

All the buddies who went back, never regretted their move. The only reasons that make them return to the West is either for vacations, medical check ups or business.

Being a landlord in a cursed place like Somalia is tough and not worth it. If you were to get an expat who was paying hard currency then you got it made

Gurey,

Yeah, but you got to factor in entertainment, good housing, a wife or two etc. It adds up.

Jesteye,

Better yet, he marries into a rich family in Africa and the fam set him up in the business. Brotherman is now living large and all he needs to do is please the wifey and save his capital to venture out on his own.

There are a lot of well to do fam with single daughters, you just got to spit your game and show your credentials.

My buddy is now in charge of a telecom company just cuz he married the head of a major conglomerate. Brotherman is rolling in the dough and ain't looking back at his 9 to 5 in the States where Uncle Sam took 30% of his income.
