Residents in Shock as death toll rises to 20

Postby wagardhac » Tue Jul 13, 2010 4:48 pm

Residents in El-dibir village in Somalia are still in shock as death tall of Saturday’s attack by Ethiopian troops continues to rise.
The region is controlled by Ethiopian troops and the attack has left at least 20 civilians dead while 35 others wounded.
Wounded people were rushed to the nearest hospital in Abudwak district.
At one point, two vehicles carrying injured people collided around Burgesole and Abudwaq district of Galgudud region in central Somalia.
The fight broke out between the troops and residents when the locals refused to hand over two Lorries ferrying relief food for the locals. This prompted the troops to forcibly enter the area and conducted impromptu raid.
The is no official communication from the Ethiopian troops in the area regarding the incident, however, reports indicates that there was relative peace on Sunday in the area.
