Break your left hand and then you'll be forced to learn to use the other one. It's not hard you know. You can pay a Pathan to break it for you. :mrgreen:

cirwaaq,

I heard you. However, I doubt your sincerity, here.

Zul,

Can we stop religionizing every topic and try to find anything remotely close to eating/table manner in our Somali culture?. We always run for cover--religion when we are cornered!. Somalis are savages and barbarians who don't have enough knowledge of their own and refused to learn from the white man. If you keep on religionizing every topic, you either find yourself joining the Al shabab or subscribing to www.angeryblackwomen. And you will be blaming every prolbem of yours to white folks.

Kumbuli,

Good catch!. You right, there is no table. but then, table manners, in this case, means eating manners. Hey I think you never see Somali men eating in a restaurent, Walaahey you will be amazed how animal these folks are. One year old todler won't leave the messs these folks leave behind and how they act when they are eating--taking overloaded mouthful of food, having one load on the hand while one working on one mouthful.

I can't describe walaahey. You need to see to believe what I am talking about. And yes, most of them don't use spoons forks nor knives.

Maybe i took credit for something that was forced on me, nobody knew what hand was dominant. Practice makes perfect you have to just keep trying.

huuno, the white man frowns upon the savagery of eating like a barbarian and talking with a mouthful... he would be most pleased in my religiously inspired table manners :mrgreen:

Someguy,

I agree huuno :up: and I have witnessed what you are talking about. Some of us behave like savages...I don't know how one can tell another Somali to have some table manners though :? Maybe his/her family members only :| Marmarka qaar waxaad moodi inay boobayaan cuntada oo ay ku yartahay...

But some manners which are seen barbaric aren't barbaric at all..like people who eat with their hands..There was this great Shiekh that went into one of the 5 star restaurants in London. He started eating his food with his hands and he noticed that people were looking at him shocked... He was like:

What are shocked at? He raises his hand, and says;
" I use a fork, my fork that no one else shares with me" :clap:

zul,

It is time your people get civilized and stop eating like wild animals. That is all I am saying, huuno. And it is time you do your part of preaching through Islamic manners, if that helps.

Kambuli,

At this time and age eating with your hands without folks and spoons is unexcusable unless it is finger food. It is time to put away some small suna(s) and see the big picture of be part of a civilized society. Many muslim nation come to West and integrate to main western society.

No single Western person would be comfortable with Somalis eating like wild animals in Somali restaurents. And we need to be able to sell our food to others and accommodate other society in our restaurents.
