I think Somalis, like the Kenyan and Ethiopians, have what it takes to be great long distance runners. One of my friends in high school but the best 1 mile and 2 mile runner in the state and basically still holds all the records most of the long distance events in the state. Unfortunately wuu waashay and that pretty much ended his bright future as a long distance runner. Not too many Somali kids take up track unlike the Ethiopians and Kenyans. In Ethiopia track and field is huge and they hold tournaments for it all the time and they broadcast it on ETV. Hopefully Mo Farah will inspire more Somali kids to take up running as they have better chance of becoming greats in this sport than any other sport. As for Mohamed Farah, good luck to the brother. The Kenyans and Ethiopians are good but no one is undefeat-able.dude lets stick to the EU compe he will never beat Kenyans or Ethiopians.I thought he won 3 gold medals. He is a good runner. I wish he was more consistent though. But he seems to be at his prime right and I would like to see him beat the Kenyans and the Ethiopia in the internationals. European track tournament are not that deep.
But he has the potential to be come SL next minister of Sports
