No wonder the BNP support is rising. This guys runs for Great Britain yet waves the flag of another country. What has Somliland done for him, that GB hasn't. i would be mad if i was a white british

They should be happy that skinny Farah from unrecognized nation called Somaliland is putting their national image and name in the record books.

The British know these guys are immigrants from another country. That is why they’re allowed to have dual citizenship. You have MPs in India, Pakistan, South Africa, Somaliland, and many other nations with British and American passports. The western societies embrace that diversity and encourage those ethnic members of the society o go back and contribute. Mo Farah, Rage Omaar and other public figures in Britain are just doing that. HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS.

I think it is disgraceful he paraded a foreign flag let alone a foreign unrecognized ethnic flag when he should have given credit to the flag that raised him, educated him, he represents in the competition, and made it possible for him to be where he is at.
I agree with you. It seems that the poor kid has been brainwashed by desperate attention seekers.

I think with here there is an irony. Northern Somalia was colonized by the British, who started the usage of clanship in Somalia by divide and conquer tactic in 1887. 123 years later one of the victims of their colonization wins the first ever medal for the country whom used the first advanced airspace in Africa, to kill his people. Damn, life is strange.

For someone whose history of the Somali peninsula starts in 1887 you still have much to learn!

Did the truth offend you?

That is when the British first came to Somalia, and the start of colonization; thus the beginning of Somali historical relevance. Before than Somalis used to work by clanship and then clanship wasn't used or abused by people to get their agendas through. It was the British, French and Italians who implanted the seed that runs through the blood of Somalis today.

Isbaaro, rape and murder were rampant long before the white man showed up. In fact his presence made us think different for a while then we went back to our roots.

We are going through a natural process of self discovery like a child expirementing with his bounderies and consequence of choice.

:D We are doing ok Nomads. We will bypass the rest once we get this stage out of our system...

Most other countries in africa have a aggressively enforced system that they do not agree with or understand. When somalis have peace and prosperity the rest of africa could goup in flames.

Do you really think it was only the White European colonials who used divide and rule tactics? Before the white European, the Somali peninsula was colonised by different local and regional empires - Ottoman Empire, Sultanate of Oman and the Ethiopian Empire.

First and foremost, the Ottoman Empire was not an occupying force or in any case instrumental in bringing forth the divide and conquer tactics to Somalia. In actuality, the Ottoman Empire was more of a friend to the Somali people, primarily in the time of Ahmed Gurey.

Abyssinia of course was a different story, but they never got their claws into Somalis, as the story of the Dervish would be a perfect example.

History is long and drawn out the fact is you seem to bend and twist history to your own likely to justify why your clan region should be separate and most of the arguments spoken about the need for indepdence is the famous line of "we were independent from Somalia for 5 days, and we joined with them, but we are different"

If someone outside spoke the way y'all do I swear to GOD they'd bring out the straitjacket.

Thats not correct!
The Ottoman were not in the same time as Ahmed Gurey. Ahmed Gurey died in 1543 and the habes (Abyssinia including somalia) region of the Ottaman was establised in 1554.
