I am yet to see a source which details who built and when was it built city of Mogadisho? But from what i read it stated it was founded between the 2nd & 3rd century AD but major developments were made during the time of caliph AbdiMalik ibn Marawan but its not necessarily Mogadishu rather that part of horn of africa!

Istaqfrullah Jamac-Yare,

Insinuating that one is a 'bastard' during Ramadan is a grave sin.

As for Mogadishu,

Some say it was created by Persian/Omani refugees/traders in the 6th century.

Others claim that the city existed long before Persian/Omani refugees and traders came to Somalia. The city is mentioned in Greek/Latin literatures.

Mogadishu is 1000+ years old.
"[Mogadishu (in East Africa)] is a town endless in its size... Its people are powerful merchants. In it are manufactured the cloths named after it which have no rival, and are transported as far as Egypt and elsewhere."

Ibn Battuta, A.D. 1331

I heard, there is Gujarati Indian & Greek reference of Mogadishu. Which means, the city is inhabited a thousand/two. And traded with Greek and Indians.
