He has the right refuse his daughter to anyone even if it's out of ignorance and jahalia.

However, his daughter will still see her lover, regardless of his decision.

I dont know what happened but if it was me, i think its actually an insult to even bring up this Convo in the Masjid but than maybe they were not comfortable to going to this families house. I actually got it through the Grapevine tonight that the Girl is suppose to be marrying her cousin from Ohio in Feb.

That is just wrong, man. One has to be respectful and courteous, especially in a mosque among fellow Muslims. This just shows that simply because you bend and kneel down more than others, doesn't translate into any increase in taqwaha iyo Islamic manners.

You can always say yes or no. But you can't add insult to injury by humiliating someone in public, especially someone that came to you in the name of God in a Mosque during a holy month.

Yo this is in the Masjid come on now.

TW

So True but am still baffled as to why the man decided to ask this right in the Mosque? The Son Jumped in and am sure i didnt stop him he would have hit the Somali Father and than we all were embarrassed because of the commotion, now everyone know's what happened. We sometimes have a substantial African American Muslim's come to the Mosque so am sure this will get around and our Image just destroyed but majority of the Mosque is Pakistani's so we all know how they feel about these kind of Marriages.

This what people keep saying but actually more Somali Women are married to a Black Revert than White so i dont see where you guy's get this notion from. I think every man or women should be entitled to who or refuse to give their daughter to. Iam not of those who believes that just because he denied his daughter to this man he is Racist.

Was the African American a good looking bloke or a nappy headed, big lipped, gorilla with giant nostrils? Because if he looked like he could give me decent looking grand children and was from a relatively well off family, I would have no problem overlooking the slave descent and marrying off the daughter to him (had i been the father). But I would have never acted as foolish as this "father" even if my answer had been a no. He not only lowered the reputation of Somalis amoung the Pakis, but also the negro blacks. The negro father should press charges if the father doesn't reconsider...
