For those who want to read Somalia's recently written Constitution(It hasnt been sanctioned yet and remains as a draft) , There have been several changes from the 1960 dastuur and the several TNG sponsored ones that followed.

Article 95. Qualifications to be President
The President shall be a Somali citizen of more than 40 years of age, with an appropriate level of
education and relevant experience, have the highest integrity and command the respect of the
entire nation.

The Old dastuur(s) stressed that the president should be Muslim but according to this no which contradicts the whole base of the constitution which derives from Shariah.

Preamble

In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

We, the Somali people, with firm faith in God Almighty and relying on His mercy

 Bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship but Allah and that the Prophet
Mohammed SAW is indeed a true messenger and prophet;

 Reject all forms of violence and acknowledge the injustices and shortcomings of our past;

 Stand united to bring an end to the long conflict and strife in our country;

 Acknowledge the inspiring tireless struggle of our people for a better life, and our leaders
historic struggles and sacrifices to liberate and unite our country;

 Reaffirm that Somalia is one country;

 Commit ourselves to the establishment of durable peace, the promotion of national unity,
and good governance.

what if only has a college degree? I mean, what is an appropriate level of education? I am sure there are many presidents who do not have any sort of university degree.

ok, i clicked on your article and it looks like the previous SOmali constitutions are way too extreme and nationalistic. The president has to be married to a SOmali women, wth?Both of his parents have to be Somali, wth. What if a marry a beautiful mixed race muslimah, i can't become the president of SOmalia, man get the ffff outta here.
