Actually she wasn't yelling at the train.. She was yelling to the black men who were working near the train.. She was clearly shouting 'Brothers.. I'm Malia from so and so tribe'..
And the only reason why she didn't ask the police men for help was simply because they were too busy retraining a young black man.. in her eyes she probably thought he was also a run away slave or whatever since he was black.. and also she might have thought the police were probably ganna be on the rich arab family's side :| .
