We have a two year old named Ahmad Hassan who cannot even go to school or experience a proper childhood, his mother Fatima Jama who is to sick to join the scarce amount of jobs in Somalia. Ahmad wakes up everyday to his ailing mother and must do anything to give her the bare basics. Unfortantely, Ahmed only has two choices, to become a child soldier or watch his ailing mother die infront of his eyes what a tragic reality this is. He goes up to one of the recruiters and enlists in an Islamist group known as Al shabab or "The Youth" who entice children with the chance to feed their families and an easy route to Paradise. Ahmed than has to forcefully leave his mother in order to fight against a phantom TFG government but its either do or die for him.

We have Ali Isse a 10 year old boy who lives in Mogadishu, he has his little brother Culosoow, they are both orphans living in a poor abandoned warhouse, one we visited them we asked them what happened to their parents? "They were both killed when we were fleeing the heavy influx of fighting last May when a random mortar struck both of them", Ali said with a grimace on his face. The look on their face never was forgotten by our organization, now these children cannot have any role model and are easily influenced by foreign Al shabab recruiters, its either they join or die. As we moved along throughout Somalia we met a teenager named Kahin in Berbera, Somalia he was a poor little refugee whos parents were both killed by criminal thugs known as the "Somali National Movement" simply because they were housing and feeding fellow Somalis from an opposing clan. Today he was almost killed for ripping off a man with "red teeth" when he was doing what he does best, selling an exotic east african plant "Qat". He told me he narrowily escaped from the angry man who had he told me had a distinct "alchohol" scent. Kahin told us that the schooling system promoted those same thugs who killed his parents, so he refused to go there.
