New developments that puntland and Somaliland will start dialog. The two Somali states have never held talks at a state level. This should be interesting. The united states has started to aid Somaliland with 26 million month, and is set to increase that aid budget to 100 million by the end of this year.
"We will work to engage more actively with the governments of Puntland and Somaliland. We hope to be able to have more American diplomats and aid workers going into those countries on an ad hoc basis," Mr Carson said, referring to both Somaliland and Puntland as "countries".
