I remember taking this biological anthro course in my undergrad and we had to cover the spread of diseases in the New world.

Apparently there were some 50 million natives living in the New world before the first white settlers came. From the Caribbean to the farthest parts of Newfoundland, Papau New Guinnea to Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, North and South America, etc. It was estimated over 70% of them died from exposure to un-familiar diseases e.g. chicken pox, measles, etc. Diseases natives had never contracted, never been immunized against and had no symbiotic physiological reaction to. Diseases killed more than any modern weapons could. In 1879, the U.S. government infected thousands of blankets & parkas with measles and intentionally distributed it to Navajo Indians in the Southwest with intention to inflict harm and a possible population depletion. And in less than 2 centuries, less than 10 million of natives were living anywhere in the New world.

These people have perfected the art of propaganda. There have not been any other race of people who have received impuignity for mass scale crimes than the Europeans of this era.
