ps I think you need a visa to enter Somaliland from Somalia so they are lucky to be there in the first place.
Lucky ??????
Yeah they're not getting sent back like in Puntland and they're not living in the crossfire in the south. You can't blame Somaliland for the fact that they're poor.

Well we are witnessing political and social inbalance. Technically, those IDP champs that are set up, do not qualify for International aid since Somaliland is not Internationally recognised. Consequently, there is a social detachment from the locals as they dont have the means to help these people economically,as they themsleves are in their own struggle nor do they have the political power to advocate for them.
Also, the claims of Somaliland booming economically and being socially progressive might just be inaccurate as the revenues and business structure is far more successful in the South, though with the increased instabilty should aid in changing that course eventually...

I never liked the concept of secession, these fools don't know how to be loyal to their country, when the recognition bid evidently fails they'll come crawling back. Somaliland is not sustainable nor is it viable, they'll either suffer severe economic consequences or join Somalia, i'm just counting the days.

Our quest for statehood is not negotiable, i thought our stance on this issue for the past 20 years should have been evidence to that. thinking we will 'join somalia' when you're in such a political mess and cant even agree with your next of kin is beyond laughable.

What do you expect for somaliland to build them homes? when there are already poor people in somaliland. Like dhair riyaale said all we can offer them is peace. A place they can live without rabshad.

it's one thing to be a refugee in another country that doesn't speak your language or understand your religion and culture but here? really? the likelihood is that those people in the tents are refugees from Mogadishu and other parts of Somalia who ran away from the fighting and if this is how Somaliland is treating Somali people i'm taking back everything good that i have ever said about Somaliland.

The screw, meesha ma waxaad moodey a welfare state where refugees get housing and welfare.? u need to remeber this is africa, a 3rd world nation, these people are lucky enough to be living in peace and are getting help with their hardship... they should so lucky unlike Bintiland who would deport them.

To correct you on the deportation thing, SL was the 1st thyat started deporting the non-slander Somalis from the Waqooyi Galbeed and Togdheer regions. It was right after the explosions that took place in Hargeisa that many of these people were deported from those two regions.

They didn't cross any border!!.....The "border" between Somaliland and Somalia is in Dhulbahante & Warsangeli land and its open for everyone to cross freely, we don't recognize Somaliland.

After the attack in Hargeisa in 2008, they were all deported in massive numbers. Let us get real here and state the facts. The massive deportation of Somalis was started by SLers.
