Sound frequency test: How well do you think your hearing is?

Note: Follow directions thoroughly before you cause serious damage to your eardrums.

Ps-Post if you can hear very well in the lower dB's with a 16 kHZ frequency. Generally children can hear higher frequencies than adults, while women can hear better than men.

Enjoy!

I can pickup the 12Khz as for the 16Khz it is as though it is imagined it is merely a sensation. The type of sound made by some of the electric appliances which is most annoying.

http://www.audiocheck.net/audiotests_fr ... ckhigh.php

This site goes up to 22Khz

Best i can do is about 18KHz

Cirwaaq,

Most of my female classmates did the 16kHz at a lower dB without any hurdles while none of the males could do it. It all came up when last week one of my female classmates had a ring-tone set to this frequency and all of the females could hear it, including my female patho professor and none of the guys heard it. I wanted to see if others on here would get similar results or if it was an isolated anomaly.

Did you line up your kHz from 1kHz to 30 Hz and then go down on the dB along the 16 kHz column? How low do you hear even a buzzing sound before it completely stops?

I can't hear anything below -54.
