[quote="Monk-of-Mogadishu"]Can one of our Hawiye patrons explain to me what this activity is called.
Wallahi I was at work scrolling down the pics and was suppressing a laugh right until I got to this photo, and I couldn't hold it anymore. My coworkers asked Me what I was laughing at. These Guys photos are just so funny, I remember the one where they were riding some sort of donkey car/motarcycle, then the masked doctors and now this? LMFAO. Seriously I wanna know what this particular pose is
These sports games have nothing to do with Al-Shabaab per se, I know the Abgaal and their neighboring clans used to have these weird sports events during A/Yusuf's days.
Even their sports events have an element of violence. I can't decide if half the pictures were about sword play with stick, jousting without horse, or hit the pinata.
Its like an olympic event. There is a goal post in the off-center. 1 game has contestants trying to shoot a bow through it. Another event has them blindfolded and given a guide stick and they have to find their way through the post.
