Hyper nice pics  i'm fascinated with old buildings and ruins
Syria is very rich in History , Assyrian, Phoenician ,Greek, Persian , Roman ,Christian , and Islamic ones.
plus Mesopotamia (Syria and Iraq) civilizations were first to master agriculture and cattle domestication, cradle of civilization indeed.

i like the old city of Damascus

I ll contribute to this thread bal, starting with the hisotrical religous sites

the oldest market in Damascus -Suuq Al-xamideyah. is a little over two centuries old

The Ummayad Mosque in Damascus, one of the oldest mosques in islam(almost thousand yrs old) and the site where prophet Issa will come down on at the end of the time to kill the anti christ. the final battle between the believers and the non-belivers at the end of the time will take place in a place not that far from the Ummayad mosque

this small and elevated structure is the tomb of Salah AL-Deen AL-ayoubi,the famou muslim General who defeated the crusaders and ejected them from Jerousalem.

the statue of Salahu al-deen al ayoubi

inside the Ummayad mosque, notice the art on the wall, its all hand made and a master piece of islamic art

masjid Zaynab, an important shia shrine and more than half million Iranis cross the border every year to pilgrimage to it, and ask for intercession.

women wailing at the zaynab shrine

then you have the place where the first crime in humanity took place, where the son of Adam Haabil(abel) killed his brother Qaabil(Cain),its called the blood cave.notice Haabil's blood in still on the cave walls

Image

Image

they built a masjid on it, there is sufficient amount of xaith that the Dua (supplications) in this place are acceptable, and many prophets took refuge in this spot from their people.

i ll post more when I get time
