North Korea attacks South Korea

Postby ToughGong » Tue Nov 23, 2010 5:37 am

Seoul residents expressed growing alarm late Tuesday after a deadly North Korean artillery attack on a South Korean island, leading many to try to make sense of Pyongyang's latest provocation.

"It has finally come to this, the very day we all feared," said Douglas Shin, a Seoul activist. "This is real confrontation. If it goes a few notches higher, I'm worried that cooler heads will not prevail, and that there will be no point for standing down."

Inalilah....indho yarti dagaal bey isla galeen...

South Korea says it has returned fire after North Korea fired dozens of artillery shells at one of its border islands, killing two marines.

The South's military was placed on its highest non-wartime alert after the shells landed on Yeonpyeong island.

EOMM - Ya think....

North Korea's military says: "The South Korean enemy, despite our repeated warnings, committed reckless military provocations of firing artillery shells into our maritime territory near Yeonpyeong island... [Pyongyang] will continue to make merciless military attacks with no hesitation if the South Korean enemy dares to invade our sea territory by 0.001mm."

There aint going to be any fighting, no one wants one, the governments don't want one, the armies don't want one, and the financial markets don't want one.

and I don't want one. I'm the perfect age for recruitment at optimum health

Sorry guys, but this is just another political game by the North. When they're desperate they do this.

We could do with a few less chinese on this planet. I mean 1.2billion i am sure they could sacrifice 600million and still be happy. At least they won't need to enforce the 1 child per family law after an incident like this.

i say go for it...

No war will be happening between the north or the south anytime soon. Believe it or not it is not in the interest of North korea to be in this wildfire, china will talk them out of it. The country is starving and kim always does somethign stupid to get noticed, when he get noticed he get food aid. Then he is silenced again as usual. Very pathetic.

No North Korean population is starving. It is a media campaign that is designed to create a bad image about that country. The military sales of the DPRK are at least US $28 Billion dollars a year and how in the world a country with such a large military exports allow her population to starve? The stuff that is reported in CNN and BBC are intended for public consumption at home and not the real facts. The closest they got to famine was when in the 90s they faced long draughts for successive three years that have caused poor harvests. Any nation whose population faces long draughts could see malnurition occuring to its people.

Im sorry but there are numerous reports (visual and in writing) that show that N.koreas population dont get enough food. Why else would they need food aid? Kim is a mad man, but its better for the people to be in his controll then experience democracy. Many people would kill themselves if their leader died, and the rest would hate the west and not believe a thing told to them. Propaganda is heavy.
