Predictions for 2011

-Egypt bombs Ethiopia, Ethiopia cuts off Nile, Egypt renews Nile sharing deal
-Taliban lays siege to Islamabad, ends in failure, returns in 2015 to topple the regime and subsequently sweeps all of Pakistan, invades Iran in 2020, closes border with Lebanon in 2025, pushes across Israel and walks into vacant Cairo in 2030, China cedes parts of East Turkestan to Taliban Empire, Russia grants further autonomy to Tatar & Caucasus regions under Taliban influence, armed insurrection in KSA, Saudi monarchy flees into Yemen but deported back to Mullah Omar's trial room, etc.

Sorry a little unrealistic. You make the taliban look like power rangers and make them seem unstoppable.

Were the Bolsheviks unstoppable in the early 20th century? It didn't seem likely that they'd topple the Russian Empire but within 30 years of arriving on the scene they were in Germany, Korea, Africa and Latin America. Ideas spread faster than bullets.

A few years ago the entire Taliban's influence didn't surpass a tiny area called Waziristan, and just 16 years ago they didn't even exist. Today they are dictating what goes on in Lahore and mounting operations in Karachi, on the other side of Pakistan. These guys were managing villages just a decade ago and now they are calling shots in cities of over 10 million. The people of Lahore are now complaining about the "Talibanization" of their city. These aren't my words, its British and American personnel who are alarmed by the Taliban's growth. Maybe you haven't been watching the news lately.
