Somali MPs say they dismissed parliament speaker

Postby Coeus » Mon Nov 29, 2010 3:12 pm

OGADISHU – More than 90 of the transitional parliamentarians have Monday issued a press release and said that they had dismissed the speaker of the parliament Sharif Hassan Sheik Aden.

The press release said, “We are informing to all the international community and the Somali people to know that Sharif Hassan Sheik Aden has violated the charter of the lawmakers. He opposed the articles 13th in the continuation directly as he mismanaged the approval of the newly elected cabinet ministries of Somalia,”

“He had displayed two motions for us, first to vote raising hands or secretly, but he did neither of them and did another third step out of the law. The speaker did not respect us indeed. He forced to the lawmakers to vote. Only 250 legislators had provided votes through raising hands while 93 others voted secretly,’ said the press release

The MPs had reiterated in their press release that the speaker of the parliament made great mistake on the law of the transitional government of Somalia.

The only 92 lawmakers who opposed the endorsement the cabinet ministries had issued the press release and said they had sacked the speaker Sharif Hassan Sheik Aden adding that they would appoint new speaker very soon.
