We just have to think of these rulings beyond the scope of our personal reasonings. What may sound common sense to us may sound ludicrous to others and vice versa. Most of the rulings are non specific, they span across cultures, chronology and peoples. Just because it goes against your understanding doesn't mean its not real or accurate. I noticed the most puzzling issue for many Muslims in the Western hemisphere is the issue of slavery in Islam and specially intimacy with female slaves. It may not be up to par with our logic, but it was once a daily reality for many Muslims.

Why do we wipe the top of our socks and not the bottom when we are doing a wudhu?

[Perhabs that is the aim? Bring doubt in the minds and hearts of muslims on the function of Hadith and drive all muslims to loose faith in hadith. Making Quran the only source of guidance... It is only my opinion however i wonder how much Impact this would have on the day to day way of life of muslims if all hadith are removed from islamic practice?

look no one wants to remove all hadiith in islam but unfortunatly muslims who live today but hadiiths before the quran, if you read so called sahiih bukhaari and muslim and mny others you will find walaahi craziest hadiiths like praying whit drunk imaam, foraxample and how you can have sex whit your slave women even if shes married whit another man all ,of those disgusting things are in so called saxiiix bukhaari and muslim and mny others.

yes of course there are thousends of thousends good hadiith which are very important for the daily live of muslim and how the muslim can worship allah in the best way possible but nasiib xumo you have sahiiih hadiith which says.

is allowed to have sex married slave women becouse its you who own here,, is thats a what allah wants muslims to do having sex whit your slave women even shes married, no never subxaana allah, how a real muslim can defend hadiiths like that?

authenticity of hadiiths are very questional always unlike quran whichs 100% wax la hubo ah aan haba yaraatee ka taagneeyn suaaal . marka xaqiiqdii dadkii xadiisyada soo wariyey sida bukhaari and muslim and abu daauuud raxmatu allah calayhi they lived almost 250 years after prophets scw past away so how can we 100% sure those hadiith we call today sahiih are real sahiih or they are just man made bulshit? no we can never be sure. but quraan whichs allahs word 114 surah and 6666 ayah we can be sure becouse it was collected when rasuul was alive and people who whit rasuul scw were still alive

Not a problem as long as it is left in history and not used as an example that slavery is accepted in Islam.

Were it the case that all muslims based their daily islamic life purely on the Quran then you would instantly eliminate all varriance and have only muslims as opposed to suni, shia, wahabi etc.

It has been great to be reading your inputs. of course, we need to put things into context but I am afraid I cannot for the life of me see the reasonability of this fatwa. It is bloody fatwa and mindlessness.

Which one is more reasonable to issue such fatwa or be practical and allow people to function as a society:men and women cannot be apart. They are bound to enteract. I always thought it makes perfect sense to have Hijaab in order to manage your daily life.

Well, Saudi's should let their people out of the houses and leave Islam alone. That is pathetic.

I personnally do not find too difficult to understand Islam and slavery. It makes sense, but what I was unaware of what Dr_Yalaxow just explained.Re-a man can sleep with his married slave. I never heard of that.

P.O: the whole reason of suckiling this 20 years old guy was that the woman's husband wouldn't be bothered(jealous) of Salim's presence around his wife, and to enable the the boy to live in his master's house,since he had nowhere to go so the hadith does give u more answers than it raises questions.she also suckled him directly from her nipple(which is another hot potato ).so if u only read the text of the hadith. you would get answers to all the questions u just posted.

Aisha reported that the boy had just reached puberty, there's another variation that says the boy was reaching puberty. Both reported by Aisha, but with different chain of narrations. I'm going by what I came across years ago and what Sh. Boqolsoon had said about the issue. The boy was Abu Hadhayfa's adopted son and was part of the household, I haven't seen anything about jealousy. If anything, the scholars said that Abu Hadhayfa considered the boy as his son and this was done to make living arrangements more acceptable for everyone.

As for how she suckled him, Aisha never said the boy directly suckled the woman, most scholars agree he probably drank from a cup, but the hypocrites did exaggerate this issue by claiming he was suckled directly. Allahu aclam.

E-sistah it is true that the Quran is above the hadith, but if you learn the deen it is wajib for a muslim to believe that the prophets were truthful, that they did not conceal the truth, trustworthiness, and they are inteligent. The sahih hadiths are 100% authenticated and are the highest level of authenticity that could be possibly collected with the help of Allah so it is wajib to believe in them. You must learn your fiqh if you want to be able to put them in their right place. There are also what is called Hadith Qudsi which is Allah conveying his message directly through the prophet scw and are equal to the Qur'an but are not Qur'an.

bro,the whole reason abu hudhyifa's wife went to the prophet is that she sensed abu hudhyfa was bothered by the presence of salim around his wife without a mahram.will get you the text soon,give me min.
but my question still stands of whats the evidence this suckling thing is only for the adopted and the orphans?

That they should draw their veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty
Except to their husbands their fathers their husbands' fathers
Their sons their husbands' sons
Their brothers or their brothers' sons or
Their sisters' sons or their women or
The slaves whom their right hands possess or
Male servants free of physical needs or
Small children who have no sense of the shame of sex;
And that they should not strike their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden ornaments.
And O ye Believers! turn ye all together towards Allah that ye may attain Bliss.
