No probs, food can mess up your mood and slow metabolism. If your a couch potato dont expect the somali genes to maintain your weight, you'll end up with a gut and a fuutoweyn like your grandma

Get up go run, gym- no trans fat or fast food. Cut sugar and eat small portions and frequent. That should solve much of it. If your mood isnt in check see a therapist/psychologist and get your meds right. You dont want to end up like Voltage :geek:

Sxb take the advice.

Psychologist don't prescribe psychiatric medications. Psychiatrist do.

Rx: PAXIL 40Mg QD
OR REMERON 30 Mg QHs.

^^So which one are you on?

Remeron will be a sure fit for your friend cause its mainly used in the treating depression, or sometimes is Rx for insomnia and to boost appetite.

Prozac is for panic disorder, OCD and yes for severe Depression.

It may not necessarily be your metabolism that needs to be addressed. It could be your vitamin D levels since you live in Seattle and barely get enough sunlight. You might want to have a thorough physical exam and preferably some blood work. If you're a student, visit your campus health center, if you have health insurance, visit your primary care provider and discuss this with them. You could also be anemic or might be low on minerals such as zinc, iron, magnesium or even omega 3 amino acids. The only time you should be concerned about having low metabolism is when you are over 35 and a male. Or if you're someone who does nothing but sits on his ass all day, best indicator of low metabolism is excessive weight gain in a very short span of time. Have you been gaining weight? It could even be thyroid deficiencies or a host of other issues. Check with your doctor either way.

I don't think your tiredness has got to do with your metabolism. Exhaustion is caused by various things:

-lack of activity
-eating too much (white) sugar.
-depression, stress
-anaemia, not enough iron
-if you are on medication, some of them such as cholesterol-lowering medication have exhausition as side effects
-if you are recovering from an infection disease such as the flu
-dehydration

and many more. So go to your doc
