May soldiers didnt get paid for months before farmaajo came, so the soldiers sold the weapons to Al shabab, and many even joined. But now when they are guaranteed pay, then nobody wants to see another soldier commiting treason.

They have promised and haven’t delivered anything. Most of the soldiers in the TFG army haven’t been paid for months.

Hundreds of the government's own soldiers stormed the seaside palace of President Sheik Sharif Ahmed Saturday demanding several months' back pay they were owed, members of parliament reported.

Frattini expressed concern about deteriorating conditions in Somalia and Yemen. He noted a recent conversation with President Sharif of Somalia's Transitional Federal Government (TFG), in which Sharif said that he would be unable to pay his security forces by the end of February. Frattini said that Italy was encouraging the EU Presidency to focus on Somalia and Yemen, and had proposed a United Nations conference addressing Horn of Africa security issues. Italy was providing funding to the TFG's national budget. SecDef concurred that the region deserved more focus.

I agree with most of the things, but one thing disturbs me: killing a shababist with a gun.
its more better that the government soldiers have swords to execute captured shababists to save their own bullets. Why waste bullets on a cursed dog of hellfire when u can slice his throat with knife or strike his neck with sword?

The dowlad ku sheega should train their soldiers to deal harshly against shababs and xisbul shaytaans.

I didnt dissagree. But didnt you also read that farmaajo has promised them that they will get their pay every month. So they will get their pay for december and this law is justifiable. Because they dotn have any reason to commit treason.

Saaxib desperate times need desperate measures. Soldiers that sell weapons to Al shabab are destroying the lives of their fellow comrades and also prolonging the war between amisom and Al shabab. They need to be held accountable.
