That map doesn't make any sense. If that was the case, Ethiopia would still deal with insurgency in the Ogaden and now deal with MJ and Hawiye insurgency. The Muslims in Ethiopia would have a bigger say and Christians wouldn't like that. Somaliland has no natrual resources or fertile land to feed its people, so it doesn't make sense, Somaliland cannot survive on it's ownThis seems more fitting in todays environment

Do you really think ethiopia breaks a sweat fighting it out in minor skirmishes with the ONLF, they have somalis ready to die for ethiopia on the front line, so no ethiopia will never give up on their current land (ogaden). Also ethiopia is dreaming of one day ruling xamar otherwise why would they go to all the trouble of fighting it out in 2006.That map doesn't make any sense.
