Ethiopia is closer to 90million
Uganda 33million
Rwanda 10million
Burundi 8million
South sudan 8million
Non of them have access to affordable ports. There is oil and gas which needs affordable avenue for export. Those who champion the TFG have the opportunity to secure contracts which will have to be respected and honoured as the signitures on the contracts will have come from chosen leaders of the somali people. Even if not elected they have been accepted locally and globally as the official leaders of the state.
The silent partner that has to be paid a lot of money to accept the sacrificial state aka Somalia is the state of Kenya.
Stable Somalia is a threat to Kenya's future considering the monopoly it can enjoy if all the above populations depend on Kenyan ports. When ever Kenya wants to get it's way it raises the issue of S.land's recognition. Majority of non-somalis in AS entered via Kenya and i wouldn't be surprised if they are able to go and come through there without problems.
Stating the population is 2 million is as good as a preemptive strike. If they had to go back into the state aggresively to fight shabab they could easily deny genocide so long as there are 2million left alife in designated reservations.
