Salaam to all,
I'm tired of muslims who don't believe in mental-illness, depression or even jiins (which at this point becomes an aqeedah issue). The fact that they always believe mental illness is from something 'bad' a person did! No, it can be GENETICS too!
The Sheikh even spoke about "drinking the ayats of the quran after having written it and washed it off," and you know what? It is Sunnah!

The court case is still ongoing warya.Salaam to all,

JazakAllah khair sis.ASC sister
Practising Muslims can get depression but wat I've experienced is dat it's usually wen u start practising that you get the depression as the shaytans don't want you getting closer to Allah(SWT). Quran is a shiifa as the ayat you qouted as said .. But read da dua book fortrous(sp?) of the Muslim there is a dua for laziness and depression and make sure you put surah al baqarah on in your house everyday walal as it stops evil comin in to your home.
Hopefully that should be enough to cure the depression inshallah

Not at the top of my head, or maybe not even, please enlighten us.Do you know about the ayah that talks about particular Muslims who do not experience fear or unhappiness? However, I did believe in depression and that muslims can get depressed but what about PRACTISING ones?
46:13.Not at the top of my head, or maybe not even, please enlighten us.

p.s. The funny thing. The last part of the video - part 4 is the questions and answers. A lot of the time the Shaykh dealing with possessions would be asked questions but he kept wanting to pass it on to the Doctor, because clearly the people are suffering from health related problems rather than possessions! He sees at the very least a thousand cases a YEAR and only say maybe 3-4 is real cases of possession.Shaykh Abu Eesa, made a comment regarding asian women and how high cases of them are suffereing from depression due to their environment at home. He said, some 'practising' () brothers view that their wives should be at home, locked up, cooking and cleaning, but they themselves are always out with friends, going to circles and enjoying themsleves. This made me think about Somali ladies too, whilst they are not getting it as bad as asian females in regards to being forced to stay at home, they have loads of kids and most of the time bring them up with no 'husband' help. This can lead to problems with one person having to shoulder some much responsibilties.
