MOGADISHU (Mareeg)-Reports from Mahaday district of middle Shabelle region indicate that 5 people were arrested after they were accused of to be reluctant to the Shabab’s order, sources said.
The detained people were farmers living neighborhoods of Mahaday district of middle Shabelle region and their arrest comes as they rejected to sell their farms from businessmen who are allied with Shabab.
Al-shabab fighters have collected these farmers from areas close to Mahaday district and led them to the jail for why they were reluctant to their order that was to sell their farms to above mentioned businessmen who are related to Shabab supporters, Resident said.
A resident who refused his name to be used on the media confirmed that some of the farmers were tortured by Shabab forces that were involved in forcing farmers for what they were not willing to do so.
“Some of farmers of middle Shabelle fled from here and some others live under threat of Al-shabab,’ The resident said.
