20 years. Can't you people let it go? You'd think you would already have built a new life in your new country by now. Forget about Somalia and what was.

Think about here and now!

Well lets have look
Russia in the 90s decided to have a political change instead of economical change.
Now the cause of the success of the west and the failure of soviet union was economical not political
Russia under gorbachev decided that political change is needed to be viable in the future, so in the 90s Russia started democratising and the west was applauding it, while Russia life expectingsy was decreasing, infant mortality was rising and the per capital income was falling. It was clear that political transition from soviet was a mistake

China under Deng Xiaoping decided in the 80s that, what was needed was not a political change but a economic, so autocratic china in 90`s proved that without a political change you can succeed, so the per capita income of the average Chinese rose, the life expectancy increased and infant mortality was lowered, china succeeded where the Russian failed and china uplifted 400 million people out of poverty.

Ethiopia under melez zanawi and his TPLF overthrew the DERG regime and mele zanawi commanded the heights of the Ethiopian state, mele zanawi understood history and he correctly decided that democracy does not guarantee success .so he went for a mix solution of autocratic rule that prevents chaos and ensures stability and on the other hand he pursued a economical model based on the Chinese model.

Now Somalia decided to take the Russian path under the stewardship of the snm, usc, ssdf and spm. These rebel groups whose aim was a political change miscalculated, forgetting that political success that does not guarantee your ultimate success, so when their resources drained they became like a car without a fuel, so they ceased to exists, but just before they came to a end, they decided to try one more time, so they looted state recourses like the oligarchs of russia and they took the people to the Stone Age and left them in a position of stagnation that is where we are now, a position of stagnation weather you seek recognition as a separatist or supporter of a strong central government or a believer of federalism with autonomies states your faith was sealed when the rebel groups managed too over throw the last central government of Somalia

Although the starter of this thread is not a Somali and have different agenda than the one he asking, I am surprised after 20 years of chaos, a million Somalis perished in the civil war and 10,000 African troops sitting the capital of Somalia today, there are people still blaming the last government of Somalia, a government included all Somalis and had a Tumaal minority as vice president but at the same time defending for a rebel group that only accepts and recruits one single clan and rejects the rights of other Somali clans.

Up until now there is no single Somali person that can give me the answer of why the SNM, the SSDF and the USC consisted one single clan rebel movement against all Somalia, how come these rebel movements feel right and blame the government when they themselves see things through clan goggles. The answer was and still is these rebels never cared the rights of other Somalis other than looting their properties and intimidating.

Now days I do laugh when I see these topics, because some people will never admit the truth, since they either have chip on their shoulder or they feel weak and defeated if they admit the truth

BTW. Somalis have one culture those rear Camel in the outskirts of Djibouti have the same culture of those rear Camel in the outskirts of Isiolo a town in Central Kenya

Although the starter of this thread is not a Somali
Somali nationalism is dead. Whether I'm Somali or not is a non-issue.
