Zimbabwe: Agricultural output grows 33%!!!!! ( Europe mad)

Postby Coeus » Tue Dec 28, 2010 12:09 pm

Seems like Mugabe has proven the West wrong, when they thought that kicking the white farmers out would destroy the nation forever

Bloomberg:
Zimbabwe’s agricultural industry grew by 33 percent in 2010 on improved tobacco, sugar and cotton production, the Herald reported.

The Zimbabwean government has loaned farmers $122.2 million for the 2010-11 farming season, the Harare-based newspaper said on its website today. Banks have lent a further $286 million for seed and farm-input purchases, it said.

Zimbabwe’s farming season traditionally starts in November at the beginning of the rainy season, while wheat is planted in April and May as an irrigated winter crop.

He still has a lot to answer for, the Gukurahundi massacres of Ndebele people after he became leader and his involvement in the Second Congo War are both war crimes.

I'm glad that the long-suffering Zimbabweans are getting some economic growth again though.

What about the Ugandan and Rwandan troops who massacred tens of thousands of Congolese? The UN human rights report only slammed the Ugandan troops' gross human rights violations yet you are charging as ussual against Mugabi. You are just typical westerner whose eyes can only see who is not following west's line.

They learned self sufficiency, they use to depend on white farmers, but now they depend on themselves, I say kudos, Somalis need to do the same, instead of waiting for WFP or UN giving them food and hand outs, they need to grow the food from the land and drink the milk from their cows.

EVERY nation that sent armies into Congo to fight the civil war committed horrible atrocities. Mugabe is not solely responsible, but he has plenty of blood on his hands from that war.
Gukurahundi on the other hand, is solely his doing.

Zimbabwe personifies everything that has gone wrong in Africa. Mugabe is Africa. So much potential fighting for freedom, yet disappointment in his dictatorship post-liberation. He is more educated than all of Europe's leaders combined and more eloquent, I just can't understand where things went wrong for him. Still I hate the hypocrisy of the West especially that little ninny state UK. Why do British people take the White Zimbabwean case so personally? I swear you would think British citizens of UK are the ones getting justice reaped on them in Zimbabwe in that case it is unquestionably an admission of guilt by the British for the crimes White Zimbabweans have committed in Zimbabwe. Who the hell and how did they get 95% of the best land in a Black African country if it weren't for the oppression, murder, mayhem, destruction, and subjugation of a people? Then they try to act aggrieved when the Black government tries to re-right the sins of the past. The least the Zimbabwean people could do is remove you from the illegal land you occupied. Having seen South Africa and how the ANC was quietly blackmailed by a White European hegemony of the world market forcing the ANC to give too many concessions and seeing how little has changed economically for the Black majority while the white minority still control the economy of the country, a part of me is proud Zimbabwe went a different course. Even South Africa has secret plans to go a different route which is why they can't wait for China's rise and diversification of the global economies control.

South Africa went from an arm-twisted Mandela who was rewarded with heroification in the Western world and a statue in London to a more technocratic Mbeki who stepped away from the shadow of Mandela to prepare South Africa not to be so beholden to Western influence to the current Zuma who is really a more savvy (with his feelings) version of tomorrow's Julius Malemas (already risen to ANC youth leader and expected ANC leader one day even though he is an idiot). All because Black South Africans now understand just what they had to give up to see the peaceful transition of power and are now getting prepared to relive that moment with anger and extremism of feelings towards their white compatriots.
