Why are you denying to be mj? lool ok anyway, the answer to your question is: Well, it is a fact of life. Yes, you are a terrible idealist, but you have snap out of it. Humanity core desire is to fit in, be accepted and belong. Since the old days. A beauty standard was placed, and that standard happen to make black look bad. The rest of humanity who desperately want to fit in will have to abide by it. Look in high school for instance-- the fatties, the gays or the gothic black coat wearing out casts are shunned for being different. The bullying, this is all primitive instistive human reactions to : Judge or be judged. And we have to agree, we both like to judge, rather than be judged.

If the african continent today--was the worlds super power---with intelligent adoons in intelligent power suits---and the adoons in western world were not poor, or thugs--despite opportunity--maybe racism would have been reversed. I mean, truly--if u look at it-- who can say-a pale sickly skin is beauty? But magicly in todays world- or standard-- it is in fact---a beauty.

Racism amongst Muslims is shocking!!
Heck even Asians discriminate one another based on skin tone. A Pakistan sister I used to go to uni with *who was MaashaaAllah inside & out* would get turned down by the parents of potentials *& the men themselves* based on her skin tone SMH!!

But from what I've seen its black females who are usually discriminated the most..

Btw is Iqra TV the same as 'Iqra' channel.. :|

I really don't get it. Sad attempt at whatever you were trying to do if you'd ask me.
Cali gaab what I meant is we are more racists than the racists themselves.

Nobleman I was thinking about this issue just minutes before I clicked on this topic. Even though Islam is against racism, there are alot of racist muslims even so called religious people are not immune from it. With that topic I was also shocked by the amount of baboon, monkey, jareer references, almost seemed like I was in a neo nazi white supremacist website and we are BLACK ourselves lmao. I was initially shocked by the guy wearing an ear pierce during the wedding ceremony but other than that who am I to object? Anywho just as we Somalis look down on "bantus", the rest of the world look down on us the same exact way. Arabs have major inferior complexes when it comes to whites and I each time I meet one, they prove me right. Another thing I deal with is non-muslim africans always seeing Islam as a pro Arab tool to advance their agenda because of racism they faced, so it's a big issues that needs to be dealt with.

Brilliant programme I caught by accident yesterday night on Iqra TV. The programme should of actually been called racism amongst muslims, as Islam has clear stance against racism.

The most interesting thing was a sheik called Abu Hanifa who was a guest on the topical discussion. The brother travelled far and wide in order to seek knowledge and was telling some of the stories of racism he experienced in Muslim countries. The sheikh was Nigerian and Mansha'Allah he gave a great qutbah on Islams stance against racism.

Some of his interesting and shocking stories were for example when he was sitting listening to a kutbah by a sheikh in Yemen or another Arab country. The kutbah was about marriage and the sheikh was encouraging the group to ensure that deen should be the most important factor when selecting a spouse. The sheikh went onto to say that one should even forgo looks and instead choose deen and mannerism, even if the lady is black but is still a pious muslimah. This was obviously shocking because the sheikh was equating black with ugly, even though his intentions were obviously good. This could be because of ignorance as opposed to racism, but I personally feel this sentiment is deeply embedded in the culture of many muslim countries.

Another shocking story is a story he heard that he was narrating. He talked about how a mixed race brother travelled to Yemen and met with a renowned scholar of hadith. The sheikh asked the brother if he was married, the brother replied yes and the sheikh went on to ask him where his wife was from. The brother then replied Nigeria, when the sheikh began to giggle and reply how do you find a nigerian lady attractive.

Obviously these stories could be one off cases. But the panel of three black muslim brothers all shared multiple stories of racism that they faced in an Islamic setting from other muslims not returning salam to as bad as being refused an arab or somali lady for marriage merely for their skin colour. The funny thing was the white brother in the panel said he has never ever faced any racism of this sort. Coincidence or racism?

We do not even need to look far for racism. Just recall that topic from yesterday when many of the guys on these boards were racially insulting the nigerian guy marrying the somali lady, based on a simple picture. Little could they know that they groom could of even been muslim.

Sad issue that affects muslims but is rarely ever discussed in the open.
I wanna see that Thread. I personally know a Family who has disowned their daughter for Marrying a Black man and is now divorced with two Kid's and none of her brother's and sister's talk to her yet. But before everyone Jump's a gun, this Girl when she married, her father at a heart attack and never recovered from it. As for me i prefer Somali stick to Somali.
