Al-shabaab fit many of the characteristics of the Khawaarij. They are religious zealots. You will not find anyone who prays, reads more Quran than them. They are the most practicing people in the world. They discard Classical culema, casting tradition in favour of their own interpretation of religious texts.They make takfiir upon Muslims, calling them supporters of tawaagheet. This takfiir makes it halaal for them to kill Muslims. They distort the meaning of non combatant so that they make it halaal to kill non combatants.

What is the alternative?

Why don't we focus on better alternative than just continuing the fighting that we were on for 20 years? No doubt, Al-Shabaab needs a reform within that movement but the question is AMISOM, Sarcen, Balckwater, Kenya, Ethiopia, and their backers a better alternative? I doubt so. At least the "BOYZ" delivered peace in areas they control but lack a genuine leadership whose focus is on Somalia alone. If we failed an alternative, the answer is not a continuation of the conflict and the removal of the peace that exists in Southern Somalia. The peace in Southern Somalia is not threat to any one so we need to leave it intact if we don't have a better alternative.

I did say in my first post to u that they fought against the Prophet SCW but rather I meant 'rebelled' not like fought as in a war type. I hope all the hadith i presented made u understand it by now.

There were many people like him during the prophet time, even the prophet said that :

'leave him, there are many like him! If some of you compare their prayers with your prayers, and your fasting with their fasting, you will find yourself far behind them. They will escape from the faith as the arrow pierces through the game!'

The people of the characteristics of the Khaawarij were in excistence during the prophet period, but grew as an establishment and came into force during the battle of siffin. Allah SWT knows best.
